The Rundown: Superman and his family fight to stop Brainiac and his Queen.

Brainiac has finished the creation of his Queen and she requires the power of metahumans. After killing the Czarnians, she turns her attention to Superman and his family, but Lobo arrives to rescue them all and fight back. At the same time, Brainiac begins the next phase of his plan and it involves plugging Lena into his ship.

After freeing Superman, Lex arrives with Kara and reveals that he has a plan to stop Brainiac once and for all. A plan that will require Superman and the others to hold off Brainiac’s forces. Unfortunately, Brainiac will get some unexpected help from a source close to home.

The Story: Williamson brings this story to an action packed climax. Brainiac’s plan shows an interesting change to his character and a dangerous evolution that is bolstered by his confusion about his own motivations. It makes him unpredictable in that regard and adds more drama to the story itself. The story is filled with great action and thrills throughout and I really enjoyed the surprises and cliffhanger ending. An ending that makes me want to see what happens next.

The Art: Sandoval and Mendonca delivers some beautifully detailed art throughout the issue. The visuals perfectly capture the dark atmosphere of the story while showcasing amazing action.
